A Quick Colosseum Tour

If you are only in Rome for a few hours, the only way you will get into the Colosseum is by taking one of the “hustle tours” that you will be encouraged to take when you arrive. Now, you can stand in that long line if you like, but if you are limited on time, you are out of luck! Yes they are legit tours, yes you will get inside, but the information provided from the guide is basic at best! 

I was not impressed after spending my 40 Euros for a sub par description of the history that I could have learned from perusing Instagram. I love a good guide, those that take you into that time period and have you feeling like a gladiator ready for war, she was not that! Had I not been trying to keep my hair dry in the rain, and tired, I would have kept the information and written a full review, but I don’t want anyone to lose their job! 

It’s a massive structure, you must go inside and see it for yourself, read the information on the walls, enjoy it, talk to other travelers, and if you can, appreciate its magnificence slowly! Yes you will be rushed and herded around like cattle, but during your free 30 minutes, find a quiet spot away from others and sit, thinking of Maximus! Enjoy 

Just that quickly my day in Rome has come to an end, time to rush back to the terminal, collect the luggage and hop on a train!
