An Unnerved Woman

Part 2

The tone startles her as an unfamiliar number flashes across the screen. She knows it’s not a saved contact because all notifications are silenced. Her skin begins to crawl, pores raised and her stomach churns lightly, the old fear returns and she wakes under the table.”I have a restraining order, he isn’t supposed to contact me” she whispers, yet a constant stream of images fill the phone, images of them, and everyday from a different number. “He isn’t supposed to contact me mom, he isn’t supposed to bother me”.
